Navel´s new Single Smasher - Keep Me Dry
Pünktlich zur Euro08, und ihrem Auftritt auf der Fanmeile in Basel auf dem Public Viewing Gelände der Kaserne am 12.06.2008, kommen Navel mit einem Stadion Rock Song auf die Strasse.
Die 2. Auskopplung aus “Frozen Souls”, dem umstrittenen Debutalbum (unserer Meinung nach besten Rockalbum seit Queens Of The Stone Age´s “Songs For The Deaf)” heisst “Keep Me Dry”. Ein wunderbarer, assoziativer und sehnsuchtsvoller Song im 3/4 Takt, der unbeschwert, weit und eher britisch klingt. Und ja - er kann und soll sogar im Radio laufen. Bei “Keep Me Dry” regiert kein Metal, kein RRRock und keine Verzerrer, sondern Jari Altermatts weiche Stimme auf einem Meer von akustischen Gitarren.
Für die Exklusive B-Seite, haben Navel tief in der Mottenkiste gekramt und einen Song aus dem Jahr 2006 augebuddelt: “Doll”, eine Nirvanesque Perle und herrlicher Blick zurück in die pränatale Phase der aufregensten Rockband unserer Tage.
Da stören keine Smashing Pumpkins Tourabsagen oder Rock´n Rollsche Selbstzertstümmlung und damit verbundener Tourunterbrechungen - weder Navel selbst, noch ihre Plattenfirma Louisville Records, können den Erfolg dieser Band verhindern.
